IVR phone menus

IVR phone menus that send every caller to the right place

“For bookings press 1, for support press 2.” Build menus in minutes, connect each key to a team, a queue or an AI agent, and decide exactly what happens when a caller hesitates or presses the wrong key.

  • Up to 12 options per menu
  • Timeouts and retries you control
  • Any key can go to an AI agent

Features

Everything an auto attendant should do

A menu is only as good as what happens when callers don’t follow it. You decide every path.

Your main message plays

  1. Presses a key

    1. 0 to 9, * or #: up to 12 keys, each with its own destination
    2. A team, a queue, a single phone, an AI agent or another menu
  2. Presses nothing

    1. You choose how long to wait: 20 seconds by default, up to 5 minutes
    2. They hear your timeout message
    3. The menu repeats, or moves on to the destination you chose
  3. Presses a key that does nothing

    1. They hear your “invalid option” message and get another try
    2. Give callers up to 20 tries
    3. Then they go somewhere useful instead of being hung up on

Your own recordings

A main message, a timeout message and an invalid-key message, each from your audio store.

Menus inside menus

Send a key to another IVR to build a second level, for example by department.

AI on any key

Hand bookings or questions to an AI agent while people handle the rest.

IVR or AI agent?

Menus and AI work best together

A menu is fast and predictable for simple choices. An AI agent is better at open questions. Most of our customers use both.

Use a menu when…

  • Callers choose between a few clear departments
  • You want the same path for everyone
  • Regular callers know the keys by heart

Use an AI agent when…

  • Callers ask questions in their own words
  • Something needs to be booked, looked up or written down
  • You want to answer 24/7 without a long menu
FAQ

IVR questions

Still unsure about something? Ask us directly

How many options can one menu have?

Up to 12: the keys 0 to 9, plus * and #. If you need more, send a key to a second menu.

What happens if the caller presses nothing?

After the timeout you set (20 seconds by default) the caller hears your timeout recording, and the menu either repeats or moves on to the destination you chose.

And if they press a key that does nothing?

They hear your “invalid option” recording and get another try. After the number of retries you set, the call goes to your fallback.

Can a menu option go to the AI agent?

Yes. Any key can send the caller to an AI agent, for example “press 1 to book an appointment”. It is a good way to introduce AI gently.

Who records the menu messages?

You can record them yourself in the browser, upload professional recordings, or use a flow template that generates spoken messages from text.
