Ring strategies

Five ways to ring your team

Pick how the phones ring, group by group. “Ring all” suits small teams where anyone can answer; the others share calls in turn.

  1. Ring all

Every phone rings at once. The fastest way to get an answer.

  2. Hunt

Phones ring one by one in a set order until someone picks up.

  3. Memory hunt

Rings the first phone, then the first two, then three, building up.

  4. Random

A different phone each time, to share the load.

  5. First available

Goes straight to a phone that is free right now.

If no one answers

The call still lands somewhere

You choose how long the group rings, from 1 to 300 seconds. After that the call moves on: to the AI agent, a queue, a menu, another group, a number, a recording, or it ends.

  • Ring time of 30 seconds unless you change it
  • A recording while it rings, like “Thanks for calling, connecting you now”
  • Members can answer on a softphone app on their mobile

Ring group or queue?

Which one do you need?

FAQ

Ring group questions

Still unsure about something? Ask us directly

Which ring strategy should I choose?

“Ring all” suits small teams where anyone can answer. “Hunt” rings phones one after another in a fixed order. “Memory hunt” adds one phone at each step while the earlier ones keep ringing. “Random” and “first available” spread calls without a fixed order.

How long does a ring group ring?

You choose between 1 and 300 seconds (30 by default). After that, the call goes to the no-answer destination you picked.

Can team members answer on their mobiles?

Yes. Members are SIP phones, and a SIP phone can be a free softphone app on a mobile. The ring group does not care where the phone is.

Can the caller hear something while it rings?

Yes, you can add a recording, for example “Thanks for calling, connecting you now”.
